This wedding was very very special because it took place on my final day in my 20’s. Yes, that’s right…this wedding led me right into my 30th birthday! Honestly, I could not have planned a better way to spend my birthday if I tried. There was love, laughter, dancing, and food (ohhhh my word the food!!).
Jo and Steven’s Toronto City Hall wedding had an incredible start with pups Mikey and Rowdy at Ashbridge Bay Beach. Soaking up the calm and the waves, we had fun playing with some iconic backdrops (check out that Toronto skyline!) while enjoying some nearby cherry blossoms.
Our day continued at 4pm, at Toronto City Hall in the hip Queen West area. This intimate ceremony was attended by only the bride, groom, and their immediate family. Jo and Steven were meticulous in their selection of food for their big day, and they knocked it out of the park! A posh but cozy dinner at the famously delicious Harbour Sixty Steakhouse rounded out our post ceremony experience.
side note** the staff/service at Harbour Sixty blew me away and I highly recommend going if you get a chance**
After dinner was finished, we made our way to the quirky and fun Queen East neighbourhood. Here, Jo and Steven had rented out the snug and stylish cocktail bar, Hitch Bar. This quirky little space was made extra cozy by the addition of all of their friends to celebrate their big day!
As the evening wore on, a surprise entrance was made by Descendant Detroit Style Pizza (my new love, obvi). Just when I thought the awesome eats couldn’t be topped, Jo and Steven gave out some super fancy doughnuts as favours. Thank you, Von Doughnuts, for introducing me to a whole new level of epic.
Overall this hip, fun, effortlessly chic Toronto City Hall wedding was a perfect reflection of everything closest to Jo and Steven’s hearts; Family, friends, their pups, and of course, good eats!
