Love. Love is simple. Love doesn’t have to be complicated, and neither does a wedding. Nicole and Colin had the right idea with their waterfront cottage wedding. With the perfect backdrop, this affair showed the rustic Canadian shield in all its glory. Nicole’s gorgeous bouquet from Rambling Rose Flowers perfectly reflected their surroundings. Featuring beautiful lake views, and a very relaxed bride and groom, I knew this day was going to be a joy to photograph.
One of the challenges of an outdoor wedding is Mother Nature’s unpredictable moods. Although we had every intention of holding the ceremony outside, the clouds had other ideas. Rain began to pour down right as the ceremony began. Luckily, a tent had been up for just such a scenario, and it was easy to move the small group of guests to its shelter. However – I kid you not – as soon as Nicole and Colin had their first kiss, the clouds parted and sun came through! It was amazing, and I’m sure every guest felt as if they were temporarily in a Disney movie.
This beautiful waterfront cottage wedding ended off with some delicious eats from Jack & Company Catering, with some special sweet treats delivered from Peterborough’s own Black Honey. Thank you so much to Nicole and Colin for inviting me to capture your big day!
