An elopement in Iceland.
It almost doesn’t seem real.
This couple from Germany chose a destination elopement and it perfectly fit their personalities. They wanted an intimate ceremony at an inspirational location and what could be more inspirational than the breathtaking landscape of Iceland?
The first time I chatted with Anne and Christian, I was already over the moon about photographing their elopement at the (beyond) beautiful Skógafoss waterfalls, but, I wasn’t prepared for the even more incredible news that they were expecting their first baby!
Weeks went by, and we finally met in person in the quaint little town of Vik. Even though 2625km previously separated us, it was as if we had known each other for ages. Hugs were given and laughter was shared. On the day of the wedding, the sun was shining over the waterfalls and the gusty Icelandic wind has softened. We couldn’t have asked for a much better day to compliment the setting. Following the ceremony, we were treated to an acoustic vocal performance that perfectly accompanied the sound of the cascading water. The day was full of wonderful sights and sounds, and lovely moments. We snuggled with Icelandic horses, walked along the black sand beach and took in the sunset atop of oceanside cliffs.
The only thing left to do is to tell all their friends and family that they are officially husband and wife!
