Sable + Jeremy
Growing up in Peterborough is a pretty great way to grow up. Visitors to the city (or P-dot / the ‘Burough as some locals affectionally call it) continuously sing its praises for being a welcoming community, rich in local businesses and a great support for the arts. When Sable and Jeremy told me they wanted an entirely local wedding using only local vendors, my hometown heart skipped a beat. I knew instantly that this would be the MOST PETERBOROUGH-ian WEDDING EVER.
The ladies had their hair and makeup done at Studio East while the gents had a clean shave and beverages around the corner at barber shop/clothing shop/bar, Providence. The couple did their first look at the iconic, Armour Hill, followed by a mini downtown adventure where we made stops for portraits along the way. After a brief break at Providence, we all made our way to The Publican House Brewery for Sable and Jeremy’s intimate ceremony delivered by humanist and all-over great person, Billy Ditchburn. Endless snacks were brought out by the venue, so guests could float around and enjoy the tasty food and local brews. The Guest Book was the perfect ode to the couple as they had their family and friends sign vinyl jackets, representing their love of music. As the dance party picked up, donuts from the famous Dooer’s Bakery were brought out in lieu of a cake and I am SO DOWN WITH THAT CHOICE. Not only were they delicious, but their portability factor made it easy to continue busting a move on the dance floor while enjoying the tasty dessert.
This local Peterborough wedding was a dream come true and I have to give kudos to Sable and Jeremy for successfully pulling off one of the best days I’ve ever been a part of while still staying true to themselves and what was most important to them: having a great party with awesome music with the most important people in their lives.
Rock on.
